Egg the half-elf

Egg is a humanoid elf from the 5th dimension, though through a mishap involving chasing butterflies, he got stuck in ours. Though he is very intelligent, he struggles to fit in with the rest of the population. All he really wants to do is return to his own dimension so that he can continue to expand his collection of bird-butterflies.

Icon Family

My latest project, along with everyone else in the particular class I'm in, is a family of four icons. The subject I chose to represent was the encouragement of reading. Depicted is a feather pen, a classic pen vs. sword image, a heart with a book in it, and a book with wings. I honestly am not sure why I chose wings to put on a book, but I'll take any chance I can get to draw wings… I'm not sure of the reason for that either.

Mandala

On a slightly more serious note, this year we created mandala designs using Adobe Illustrator and printed them out on plastic sheets. We ended up creating T-shirts using inkodye with the mandalas on top of the cloth to expose only the design. The shirts turned out okay, but most were quite blurry...

Dad Cat

My friend Emily came up with the idea of "Dad Cats" earlier this year, and somehow it's spiraled into a long line of running jokes. I feel like I should share this with the world, even though I doubt more than five people will ever see it. You're welcome.

Atomic Quilt

This is from earlier on in the year, but I still feel like it should go on here... For this particular project, I changed the color of each individual hexagon to create the three gradients you can see here. There were easier ways I could've done this, but i managed to make it look okay in the end.

Some Squares

The above four squares contain four more squares arranged in such a way that (hopefully) they give the sense of the idea I was asked to portray. Each of the four designs was created using four multi-sized black squares with white strokes in Adobe Illustrator. Cutting them out was awful only because I'm no good with any sort of large cutting tool. That is all.

Vector Leaf

This leaf was drawn in Adobe Illustrator using the pen tool. I varied the line usage to make it appear more realistic but I could have worked harder on the coloring to make it more visually appealing.
